Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings Manufacturer & One-Stop Supplier
Since 1994, Koxy has been manufacturing malleable iron pipe fittings, galvanized steel pipes, seamless pipes, valves and related fire protection equipment in China. With tens of thousands of tons of pipe and over 40 million fittings in stock, we supply distributors, contractors and project owners worldwide with fast delivery and complete one-stop solutions for fire protection, plumbing, gas and industrial pipelines.
Malleable iron pipe fittings are threaded fittings made from heat-treated cast iron that combines good strength with excellent ductility.
They are designed for low- to medium-pressure piping systems where reliable mechanical connection, shock resistance and easy installation are required.
Typical features:
Threaded BSP / NPT connection, easy to assemble and disassemble on site.
Good impact resistance and vibration resistance compared with ordinary gray cast iron fittings.
Suitable for a wide range of fluids: water, air, gas, steam, oil and non-corrosive liquids.
Malleable iron pipe fittings are widely used wherever safe, leak-tight threaded joints are needed. On this page you can find fittings for:
→ Fire protection & sprinkler systems – wet, dry and pre-action systems, fire hose and hydrant lines.
→ Building plumbing & HVAC – cold & hot water, heating loops, chilled water and compressed air.
→ Gas & fuel piping – natural gas, LPG and light oil distribution with compatible coatings and sealing materials.
→ Industrial pipelines – compressed air, lubrication lines, instrument air, low-pressure steam.
→ OEM and prefabrication – pre-assembled pipe spools, packaged fire pump rooms, skid modules.
Send us your medium, pressure and pipe size and our engineers will recommend the right malleable iron fittings for your project.
In pipe fittings, “malleable” means the iron has been specially heat-treated so it is less brittle than ordinary cast iron.
The base casting is converted into malleable cast iron, which can deform slightly under stress instead of cracking.
Key benefits of malleable cast iron for fittings:
Higher ductility – better resistance to impact, vibration and thermal shock.
Better machinability – cleaner threads and accurate sealing surfaces.
Improved safety – reduced risk of sudden fracture in service.
This makes malleable iron an ideal material for threaded fittings that may be assembled, disassembled and re-tightened many times during a pipeline’s life.
Both malleable iron and ductile iron are strong, reliable ferrous materials, but they serve slightly different applications.
Optimized for threaded connections.
Excellent machinability and dimensional accuracy.
Cost-effective choice for small- to medium-diameter pipelines.
Widely used in fire protection, plumbing and general industrial services.
Higher elongation, very good for high mechanical loads and buried pipelines.
Commonly used for large-diameter water mains and flange systems.
For threaded water, gas, fire and air lines up to medium pressure → choose malleable iron pipe fittings.
For large-diameter buried mains or very high load conditions → choose ductile iron fittings.
If you share your design code, pressure and connection type with us, we can help you decide quickly.
Most malleable iron pipe fittings are produced in accordance with international standards and pressure classes.
Our malleable iron fittings can be supplied to match the requirements of your local market and project specification.
Typical design and manufacturing standards include for example:
ASME / ANSI standards for threaded fittings (such as ASME B16 series).
European standards for malleable cast iron fittings (such as EN-type standards).
Compatible threaded standards: BSPT / BSPP / NPT depending on region.
Common pressure classes requested by customers:
Class 150 malleable iron fittings – widely used for building plumbing, HVAC and general industrial pipelines.
Class 300 malleable iron fittings – selected for higher pressure or temperature conditions.
For each item we can provide detailed pressure–temperature data, test reports and material traceability so that engineers can check compliance with project requirements.
As a one-stop supplier, we stock a complete range of malleable iron fittings for different media and environments, including both black and hot-dip galvanized versions.
Main product types:
Elbows – 90°, 45°, street elbows, reducing elbows.
Tees & crosses – equal and reducing type.
Couplings & unions – straight, reducing, insulated on request.

Q1. What are malleable iron pipe fittings used for?
A1: They are mainly used in low- and medium-pressure pipelines for water, air, gas, steam and oil, including fire sprinkler systems, plumbing, HVAC, gas distribution and industrial air lines.
Q2. What does “malleable” mean in pipe fittings?
A2: “Malleable” refers to the heat-treated cast iron used for the fittings, which has better ductility and impact resistance than ordinary gray cast iron, making it safer for threaded connections.
Q3. What is the difference between malleable iron fittings and ductile iron fittings?
A3: Malleable iron fittings are optimized for threaded small- and medium-diameter pipelines and offer very good machinability and cost efficiency. Ductile iron fittings are usually used for large-diameter mains and applications with very high mechanical loads.
Q4. What class are malleable iron fittings?
A4: Most malleable iron fittings are produced in pressure classes such as Class 150 and Class 300 according to international standards. The actual working pressure depends on size, temperature and medium, so please contact us for detailed data.
